The Wait Don’t Leave logo needed to be bold, brassy, and a little tongue-in-cheek. That meant one thing: it needed Carolyn Sewell.
Carolyn is all of the above. A designer and illustrator based out of Washington, DC, she loves glitter and the Deep South.
Carolyn’s work has been published in Communication Arts, Grafik, HOW, GDUSA, CMYK, UPPERCASE, and The Washington Post. Her clients have included Woolly Mammoth Theatre Co., Arlington County Fair, Forum Theatre, and many more great companies. She is regularly asked to create sketchnotes for events. Her designs grace book covers, chalkboards, and temporary tattoos across the US.
She and her husband Richard also run SewellWorks, where you can buy, among other things, wooden mustaches for your bike and some of the loveliest chopping blocks around.
One of her most amazing projects has to be Postcards to My Parents, in which she sent a new postcard to her mom and dad every day for one year as an anniversary present.
We were incredibly lucky to have this talented woman give her skills to our brand. Thank you, Carolyn, for helping making Wait Don’t Leave something worth staying around for!
